Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I have to run?
    No! This experience can be walked or run.
  • What time is the 5k?
    Each 5k race will have its own unique location and schedule. Details will be announced soon.
  • What is the route for the 5k?
    Each race will have its own unique course.
  • Will you be tracking run times or winners?
    This is a fun run with activities during the run, so there will be no official timer. You are welcome to time the race on your own! There will be no winner declared but fun prizes may still be given out.
  • Can I come and cheer on my friend?
    You must register for the 5k to participate in the fun run. However, you are encouraged to come and cheer on your friends and family. Please consider that parking is limited at each race location, and routes may include closed roads. Be considerate of others and look for opportunities to carpool or park further away.
  • Who can attend the Utah YSA Conference?
    Young single adults (ages 18 who have graduated high school up to age 35) residing in the Utah Area and their friends are welcome to join! This includes those who are not members of The Church who are also young single adults.
  • Do I have to register to participate?
    Yes! You will need a ticket to access the Conference, the Devotional, and the 5k fun runs. .
  • How soon do I need to register? Is there a deadline?
    We recommend registering as soon as possible. Once we reach capacity for an event, registration will be closed.
  • Can I bring a friend who didn’t register?
    Assuming that tickets are still available on the day of the event, anyone can register at the door for the Conference and Area Devotional. However, it is highly unlikely that tickets will still be available and attendees are encouraged to register as soon as possible to secure their spot at the event.
  • How do I contact the event organizers?

  • Is this event put on by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints?
    Yes! The Utah YSA Conference is sponsored by the Utah Area Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  • I don't live in Utah. Can I still attend?
    The Utah YSA Conference is for young single adults within the Utah Area.
  • Can those turning 18 this year who have graduated from high school register?
    Yes! If you already turned 18 this year and have already graduated from high school, you may register attend. Youth 18 or below who have not yet graduated high school will not be able to attend.
  • Should YSA leaders plan to attend? How can we support our YSAs participating in the conference?
    Married leaders of Young Single Adult units are not expected to attend the conference. However, they are welcome to volunteer at the event. The Volunteer page has more details about this opportunity. Please encourage the young single adults in your units to register soon to secure their spots at the conference! You can also encourage them to coordinate carpools and register together so they can attend with friends.
  • Wasn't the Utah YSA Conference held over multiple weekends last year? What about this year?
    We understood that not all young single adults would be available to attend on a single date. Therefore, we spread the events over multiple weekends to allow as many people as possible to attend at least a portion of the YSA Conference. After listening to feedback from young single adult committees involved in the conference planning, it was determined that condensing the conference format into a single weekend minimizes the impact on already busy schedules and will create an opportunity to engage more fully in the conference.
  • How can I donate tickets?
    If you would like to donate tickets to young single adults in need, we recommend reaching out to specific young single adults in your local area or discussing this with your bishop or branch president.
  • What if I can’t check in to the event on Thursday?
    You will be able to check in to the conference starting Thursday, August 1st at 1:00 pm. But that’s not the only time you can check in. You can do so whenever you arrive at the Salt Palace—either Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. Just be sure to check in at the Salt Palace prior to heading over to the Delta Center for the concert.
  • Can I register for multiple people?
    Yes! You can register four individuals at once.
  • What is the refund policy?
    Refunds are available until two weeks before the event. If you need one, request a refund through Eventbrite.
  • When does registration close?
    Registration will remain open for all events until they reach full capacity.
  • Can I change my registration after I registered?
    Yes, you can adjust your registration selections after you secure your ticket. For the 5k and Conference registrations, log into your Eventbrite account, find your registration, and then modify your registration. If you have problems, reply to your confirmation email with your situation and request. Tickets for the Devotional in the Conference Center will be managed through your My Temple Square Tickets account. Using My Temple Square Tickets, you can view your tickets, take specific actions on your tickets, and present a barcoded ticket for entry into the venue. My Temple Square Tickets also includes features to allow you to edit your account settings and to maintain a list of friends. This is not the same as your Church account.
  • How do I get tickets to each event now that I've registered?
    Separate tickets will be sent to you through Eventbrite for the 5k fun run and the Conference. Tickets for the Devotional in the Conference Center will be managed through your My Temple Square Tickets account. Using My Temple Square Tickets, you can view your tickets, take specific actions on your tickets, and present a barcoded ticket for entry into the venue.
  • What if I can't afford the cost to register?
    You can work with your local unit leader (bishop or branch president) to use ward funds to register for the conference.
  • Do I still have to pay the full cost if I don't plan to attend every event?
    The ticket cost for the conference covers all events on August 2nd and 3rd and discounts will not be provided if you don't participate in all events. The Conference is viewed as one whole event. Your registration for the conference includes access to the convention, the concert, the dances, and other activities on August 2nd and 3rd. We encourage you to participate to the fullest extent and benefit from all that the conference offers. The Devotional and local events are viewed as separate events in the conference and have their own registration process.
  • Is there a way to get discounted tickets?
    In an effort to meet the needs of young single adults in the area, a discounted $25 early bird ticket is available during the month of May. Those who volunteer for the Conference will be able to attend the convention at the Salt Palace Convention Center, including the evening activities, free of charge following their volunteer shift. However, they will not be admitted to the concert at the Delta Center and will not receive conference swag.
  • Why do I have to pay to attend the conference?
    The fee to attend provides access to the conference events. This event will provide unique experiences, swag, snacks, and so much more!
  • Is the dance a separate event?
    No, the dances are part of the conference, being held at the Salt Palace Convention Center. You are invited to attend the dance and the other evening activities after the concert in the Delta Center, and on the day that you are not attending the concert.
  • Is there a dress code for this event?
    Casual clothes are welcome! Participants are encouraged to follow Church standards and are reminded of the agreement signed as part of registration.
  • That dance is included in my registration...what if I don't like dancing?
    You don't have to dance if you don't want to. There will be plenty of other exciting activities taking place in the evening at the Salt Palace Convention Center for you to take part in.
  • Is parking available for the Convention?
    Parking in Salt Lake City is limited and not provided. Available parking options can be found at https://www.parkingslc.com. Attendees are invited to carpool, or take public transit.
  • Is food provided this year at the convention?
    No, food will not be provided at the convention. Vendors and food trucks will be available throughout the conference with food for purchase.
  • Can I attend the Devotional without registering?
    Seats for the Devotional are currently saved for those registering for the Conference. If you are unable to register, the Devotional will be broadcast to the Utah Area.
  • Will interpretation be available for this event?
    Yes, Spanish and ASL interpretation will be available onsite.
  • Is parking available for the Devotional?
    Parking in Salt Lake City is limited and not provided. Available parking options can be found at https://www.parkingslc.com. Attendees are invited to carpool, or take public transit.
  • Will each event be wheelchair accessible?
    All events will be wheelchair accessible.
  • Will any language interpretation be available?
    Spanish interpretation will be available for the Devotional. ASL interpretation will be provided at major events of the conference, including the Concert, keynote addresses of the convention, and larger breakout sessions. A full schedule of interpreted activities is forthcoming.
  • I can't attend in person. Will any events be available virtually?
    The Devotional will be broadcast through the Utah Area. Broadcast links will be posted on this website when they are available.
  • Will it be ok if I attend the conference alone?
    Yes, please come! Each event will have security and medical staff onsite. Additionally, everyone who attends must agree to the 2024 Utah YSA Conference Terms and Conditions during registration. Those conditions include that anyone can be excluded or removed from an event for posing a risk or being disruptive.
  • What safety and security measures are being taken for this event?
    Safety and security are top of mind for all of us. Each event will have security and medical staff onsite in addition to volunteers to help with ushering and event logistics. Each event requires a ticket to attend which allows us to regulate the number of people at each location.
  • Do I have to run?
